2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
What have we as Western Christians forsaken that need addressing to have our land healed by our Savior?
Here are a couple of things to prayerfully consider:
Our salvation is "by grace through faith" in the finished sacrifice of Jesus Christ................so we can serve!
Do we seek "with all our heart, mind and strength" so we can find God's purpose for us in His Kingdom while on earth?
Are His precious commands and promises valid for us and today?
Do His gifts function is us according to Scripture?
Is obedience to Scripture a choice or a mandate?
Have we sought beyond "milk" the "mature" meat of our faith?
Do others see "God with us the hope of Glory" in us?
Can our salvation be "comfortable but without cause?"
Are we being "conformed to the image and likeness of Jesus Christ?"
Do we pray in accordance with His will?
How about "loving His commands which are not grievous?
Are all things to us possible by man or by God alone?
If nothing is impossible with God, and asking in Jesus name procures the answer to our prayers in accordance with His will, then why don't we see more manifestation of His promises by miracles and wonders?
To the above I ask: Do we not know how to pray? Do we not know His will in Scripture? Do we not believe in miracles? Or is God just the God of salvation and all the precious promises in scripture mute and dispensated?
Following the above thought I have to ask: If the promises/commands have been dispensated then is salvation still sure? Surely if a dot on the I and the cross on the T has been left off then the Word which became flesh has changed and God's unchanging Word has failed, so salvation is just another straw to grasp at to keep us out of hell.
What about "our testimony"? As lightly touched on above:
Our lives (if Christ be in us) has a dramatic "proof of life" for a testimony. I often am amazed by Christians that know their favorite sports team and all the players standing up at games and lifting arms and voices like people with a purpose, but in church during worship they count those that "do so" foolish.
When in conversation with others saved or unsaved Christ is never mentioned because the "Love of God" isn't "shed abroad in their hearts by the Holy Spirit" and other "more important" conversations take the lead.
I am not as big on a presentation of the Gospel by the memorization of "the Romans Road" or some other "way" as I am on "opening my mouth wide as the Holy Spirit fills it at that time" and speaking out of the Love in my heart for the "one who saved me and bought me with a price."
Because of my Love and revelation of what He did for me I can't help but speak about the one I Love naturally.
What about our intimate connection with God through Christ?
Have we failed the "grace of God?"
Is there ever any real revelation in us? Do we "hunger and thirst after righteousness" as if it is "real meat and real drink?"
Do we partake of the bread of life daily? Are we the "dogs at the foot of the Masters table that eat the crumbs?" Or as many past and present "sit at the Masters table and complain about the "same fare" (His Word, Scripture) that we are bored with it?
If we were truly "walking in the Spirit" and our faith had "opened up the eyes of our understanding" we would be passionate about His word and in wonderment of what He is manifesting in our lives. No boredom for the one who "walk in His ways" because "these things I do you also will do and greater things."
We have lost the "practice" that Christianity is an experiencing of the Word of God by faith: DAILY!
This is a sin, I repeat a sin, not to grow in grace and faith daily, not to bear the continuing revelation of Jesus Christ in our spirit, mind and flesh, DAILY.
When scripture doesn't "live in us" then we are publicly denying Christ and making/proving that the Gospel of "Power" is of none effect.
I could go on but this will be enough food for thought for now.
Prayerfully consider that which is written, first in Scripture then here by Scripture. Having done that and putting these things into practice we can "expect" God to "heal our land."
Love to all
In Christ

"Be ye doers of the word and not just hearers." We need to do more than read the Scriptures, we need to live them. That's God's design for His word. You cannot live them without faith. "Without faith you cannot please God." Read, believe, live and Glorify your Father in Heaven. This blog will contain both the Scriptural insight and application in both teaching and example of "living the Word of God". May it challenge you as it does me in our daily journey.
