I think it's humorous that because of social medias, we can all spew out hate and malice do to the untouchable nature that the media we use gives us.
Sorta "lording it over" without responsibility for what we say or imply toward others. All others!
To often the attitudes in our hearts are made manifest through our words, whether condemning or degrading, to set ourselves up as the "omnipotent" one with the only rightful power to do so. No other remark being valid unless they agree with ours.
This is the tragedy going on now in America.
We've even arrived at the point that some think that their opinions supersede all authority even the President.
I have never been the example of perfection therefore I don't have much to say of my own opinions except where the conversation brings out the need for a Biblical application. I can be in error but Scripture can't.
So here is the heart of the problem:
Those who open their mouths wide to defame and desecrate, setting themselves aside as untouchable, have committed the same "SINS" as those they defame and desecrate.
Yes SIN!
Romans 2:1
“Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.”
This "judgement" also reveals the one who judges level of maturity. There is a difference in expressing an opinion (of which we all have), in conversation and vehemently making such opinion absolute, lets say like a child. Get the picture. If not read again.
I am applying this post toward the great divide we have in this nation having to do with political views, gun related views, moral views, and all views or opinions that can have multiple opinions. Words are like time, both cannot be retrieved once they are used, nor can the loss be abated once passed. Eloquence in verbiage doesn't make malice any more palatable when expressed, nor does it deepen ties with friends or heal feelings with opponents.
1 Timothy 6:3-4
3 "If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, [even] the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;"
4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
My Dad used to say "put your brain in high gear before you open your mouth in low!" A lot could be said about that. In this "modern" day and age that small faction of maturity either doesn't exist at all or it is in such a small portion that it is hardly visible.
And the answer is?
Realize that your view may not be everybody's view right or wrong. Give place to others the same way that you demand of yourself. Know this that the Truth will be found out over time whether in your favor or not. Not everybody is of the mindset to argue, some don't even want to participate in support of their opinion. Nothing wrong with that. I myself am one of those individuals. Fight against my opinions and all that will get you is a smile and (when your done blowing off steam) the sincere words "I love you" said from the heart.
Proverbs 18:24
"A man [that hath] friends must shew himself friendly"
So lets wrap this up:
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Love never fails.
Love
