Saturday morning Worship

Saturday morning:

Best Saturday morning.

We started off with a great scramble breakfast ham, cheese, mushrooms, and onions.

After eating Elise and I were talking about what worship song we had on our minds before we arose from bed.

Mine was "You raise me up."

Elise's was "Reckless Love."

As we sat and listened to the one that was on her mind we both started to weep in the presence of the Holy Spirit as we held hands. The line that said "I couldn't earn it, and I don't deserve it, still, you give Yourself away" set the revelation of His timeless sacrifice and our unworthiness to be the benefactors.

Such truth.

God is a rewarder of those that seek Him diligently and what could be a greater reward than His presence. Emanuel God with us.

Praise and worship

Having necessity to be out of town last Sunday we went to our daughters church Gospel City, Elkhart, Ind. We took seats in the front near the stage. My first reaction was: "this is loud." But then the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart this: "It's a lot louder here!"

True corporate worship should be exuberant, spontaneous, lively, impassioned with joy, humbling, and fervent! Some will be moved to weeping, lifting of hands, dancing, quite intimacy with God, or all of the above, but for sure it will be freedom in what the Holy Spirit is leading you (or others) to do. David "danced before God" when they moved the Ark of the Covenant and his wife complained. God exulted David and rebuked Michal with barrenness.

Here's the account:

2 Samuel 6:14-23

4 And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

16 And as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.

17 And they brought in the ark of the Lord, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.

18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.

19 And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.

20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!

21 And David said unto Michal, It was before the Lord, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel: therefore will I play before the Lord.

22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.

23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

Lesson:

Don't judge others expressions of worship or you may inherit spiritual barrenness.

Today

HELLO!

It's Sunday and what a day it is, let us rejoice and be glad in it.........

Today is set forth for praise with joy unspeakable and full of glory!

Is today just another day to exist in this world or is it a day to "soar like Eagles" to the very throne of God?

As for Elise and I we will take the high road that leads upwards into the heavens. We will embrace the praise and worship in today's services and be encouraged/challenged by it's message.

We will come home filled with God's presence and prepare a feast of BBQ'd chicken wings to also fill up the flesh.

We will cling onto the fellowship of each other that has been growing stronger every one of these 46 yrs and marvel at the experience of Unconditional Love that enhances this union.

Life is not only good here but "great"!

Love is more than strong but "Unconditional".

God/Jesus Christ is more than just religion here but "King of Kings and Lord of Lords".

Here the Bible is not just a book of stories and suggested rules it's the Book of Life, non optional, God's Words to man.

Because of Him we are blessed!

Because of Him we know Love!

Because of Him we have Hope!

Because of Him we have eternal life!

Because of Him "Life is Good".

Praise Him!

A great investment!

Thoughts on the best investment and how to make it!

Best investment we ever made!

4.5+ decades ago Elise A. Cavasin and I decided to make a longterm investment. It started out in an unsure, unfamiliar, and untested venue even with the understanding Elise had working for Merrill Lynch. My personal ability to spot a great or even a good investment was dismal at best, but I believed that this one would gain over a long period of time and end up having the biggest future gain of them all. So, having discussed it thoroughly on several occasions we decided to jump into it both feet and give it a try. The cost was small at first but required regular additional investment that at the time seemed "do-able". Sometimes we had a lot to "put in" and other times we didn't know, whether, we could sustain this enterprise.

But little by little, day by day, year by year, our original investment grew and grew, one step at a time, slowly making progress until today and will continue into the future. We are hoping that by the time we pass it will represent a significant gain for our Children and Grandchildren and be a constant benefit for them throughout their lifetime.

The idea of this investment came mid to late 1968 but never was acted upon until very late 1972. That's when the commitment was sealed, and the papers signed. That investment took form with the speaking of the words "I do". That investment was Love for each other through the Holy Vows of Matrimony. Two people with no experience at all became one in flesh, mind, and spirit to make this "investment" one "till death do us part".

Like any investment it took constant care, watching and nurturing, but the payoff has been Love, Joy, and Peace in the Holy Spirit. It’s dividends and interest were measured in progeny and replicated again in their progeny and will be such through the years as long as Love never fails.

Those moments witnessed by our Children of the Unconditional Love we shared over the years, and the proof that Love continued to grow, will be an example of our oneness joined on earth but made in heaven. Our Love has continually deepened, widened, flourished, even abounded by the grace of God and His “book of instruction’s” which represent a reflection of His Unconditional Love for us.

We have made steady deposits into this “Account of Love” and we have made a few “withdrawals” from the interests gained so as to enjoy “the fruits of our labor”, the same kind of Love investment that God made in us through His Son Jesus Christ.

Love is the prime investment in this life and continues in the next also.

Invest in things that time won’t corrupt or corrode. Love is a great start.

“For God so loved the world!”

Life is good.

Love is better.

Life with Love is best.

A short thought on Christmas

Christmas:

I am glad that we set aside one day a year to celebrate/remind us of this great history changing event, even though it's sorely abused with commercialism.

Being that I mimic the benevolent big fat guy I can bring Love, joy, Truth, good news, gifts (both spiritual and physical), and hope all year around.

This way Jesus can be seen, represented daily, lifted up, worshiped and adored, His reality lived out in us/me, those who profess His Lordship.

Christmas is celebrated daily by us who "believe."

A thought for the day!

Remember this!

You only "get up" once in the morning each day. Make sure that the "side of the bed" you get out on is your best. Scripture says that "Joy comes in the morning", don't waste that possibility with discontentment or complaint. Your "attitude" when you "rise" will "set" your "thought, words and deeds," for the day. The way you "rise" will either inspire others or discourage them, especially if there is a wife lying next to you, or children in the home.

Make waking up a fun time for all.

So as the children's praise song goes:

"Rise and shine and give God the glory-glory, Rise and shine and give God the glory-glory!"

What? It didn't happen that way this morning? Well "Lord willing", you will be given tomorrow to change all that, and the rest of the day to think about it today.

Love and Joy are both decisions and experiences that are made in the heart and carried out by expression to others.

Love God,

Love your wife/husband/family,

Love others as yourself, thus satisfying all the commands of God.

Being "One with God"

Your Christian experience will only be as miraculous as your faith is to walk in the Spirit (Holy Spirit)! Faith in Jesus Christ was never meant to be a ritual of liturgical motions, but a becoming of One with Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven. We have been given the best example of a perfect Father, and the best example of a Brother in Jesus Christ. in fact it was so important that Jesus prayed the Father about that "oneness."

John 17: 20-23

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

"And the glory thou has given me I have given them", "that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that thou hast sent me". The world knows the truth by witnessing that we are one with Jesus and with our Father because we share the Fathers glory through Jesus Christ the same way He did. "The Truth shall (not maybe, but shall,) set you free!"

So this begs the question to be asked: "are you free today?"

Is your "Oneness" with God making you free more and more each new day?

Does the reward of being One with God cause your "faith" to grow" in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ daily?

Is your "Christian" experience ALIVE like it's portrayed in Scripture to be?

Do you uses up all your grace fighting your own demons instead of putting them to rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection?

Is there an abundance enough of grace to make a joyful noise unto the Lord of the earth, regardless of whether you are "happy, glad, sad or mad"?

Being one with God, and Jesus comes with the blessing of being in His presence which should bring "joy unspeakable and full of glory". How can that cause any other reaction then throwing ones hands up into the air and singing the Hallelujah course from the heart?

If your Christian experience is not somehow acclimating to a higher form every day then you need to pray about becoming deeper in oneness with Jesus and the Father.

I have found that "let God be True and every man a liar" to be just so, and those that esteem His Word as Truth will be set free to a greater degree as their "walk" with Him deepens. If we select areas in His Word to deem "unnecessary" or "false" because the "times have changed", then we will miss the "hand of God" in our lives to it's fullest application because of lack of faith. How do we get faith? "Now faith comes by hearing and that by hearing the Word of God." To "hear God's Word" is to is to "obey God's Word!" There are only two choices: obey, or disobey! If you are not doing the first one (obeying) then you are automatically doing the second one.

Remember that God never maid His Word an option in anyone's life. It's the same for both the Jew and the Gentile. We all know that the word Gentile covers everyone else on the planet outside the Jewish race. Regardless of religious faction, race, creed, color, ect.

Resurrection Celebration Day is a good time to "reconfigure" our "Walking in the Spirit" application of Christianity to bring us deeper in our "oneness" with God our Father through the Lord Jesus Christ.

A short thought on James 4:14

James 4:14

14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Many people only see the warning about the "shortness of life" in this verse, and if in context it's about the pride of success and gain from planning. A kind of boasting, but this is not all that can be taken from this scripture.

I always viewed it as a promise that "like a vapour" that appears for a little time our lives have an affect on people just, as a vapour lets some of it's elements or residue on the objects it passes. Depending on "what our vapour consists of" it could be the cooling, refreshing effect, or it could be the rampaging, damaging effect.

For the one who's vapour/life comes from a very real, living, relationship with God through Jesus Christ what's left behind will be love, joy and peace in the Holy Spirit.

From the one who's vapour/life comes from sin, malice, and wickedness what's left behind is hurt, pain, and worthlessness.

That's how you will be remembered, "by your mist."

Being that the scripture also states that "our vapour appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away" places the importance for our lives to have the most uplifting and encouraging effect on as many others as possible because "a little time" isn't very long in relationship to eternity.

"Work while it is day for the night cometh when no man worketh."

Your life will be filled with innumerable acquaintance so redeem the time as the days are evil.

Choose to be "love, joy and peace in the Holy Spirit.

The power to persevere

The willingness to persevere is a very needed attribute in today's world.
Notice that I didn't say "willingness to persevere" in hard times? Or "willingness to persevere" in good times?
Just the "willingness to persevere" all the time, day or night, in season and out of season, everyday of your life. Everyday we are alive we will need to continue to make decisions, set examples, be a witness to Christ and every valuable character trait that we have in Him.
Life takes perseverance.
Life has challenges at all levels, daily, that need addressing. We can even get weary from "well doing", let alone getting weary from "not doing so well."
So what then gives us the "willingness or motivation" to persevere everyday of our lives, and be available to the needs of family, friends, neighbors, and others that just happen to "fall into the mix?"
What can possibly inspire us to have fresh energy to wake up every morning "meet" for the day?
Personally I believe that when we have someone we represent that has a plan for us, and what we are to do, we are stimulated by purpose. We are working for a Higher Authority, in the case of a Christian "God Himself", not only our "employer" but our Father also. So we are pressing on out of obedience at two levels of authority: Gods Word and our Father. Did anyone ever work for their father? Well this is different because our Father is Unconditional Love. He is not out to just make us better at a certain skill set, but He is out to conform us to be like Jesus our Brother and teach us about Unconditional Love so that we can Love others as ourselves. It's easy to work for an all Loving Father because "Love never fails" in His love for us or in our Love for others. Love is the great promoter of perseverance, because it can only reap a "good harvest" when sown with the help of the Spirit of God.
What does scripture say about weariness?
Matthew 11:28,29
"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest."
We get rid of our weariness and burdens in the presence of Christ. This scripture is speaking to us, His brothers and sisters, it's speaking about a ever refreshing "oneness" with Christ through daily worship. That's how we "come to Him." When we "come to Him" with all the efforts that we need to make for the day (knowing that every effort, good or difficult, are burdens), and present them before Christ, He then takes them and gives us rest because they are now in "His hands."
First we come to Him in worship, then once in His presence we set our petitions before Him in prayer, by faith, so He can exchange them for a joy and peace so powerful that it manifests itself as rest. We experience His Loving "Yoke" (we are gently restrained to Him) so that we can "learn from Him". We learn that He is "gentle and humble in heart (towards all who will be yoked to Him) and that's where we find rest. The assurance that our burdens are going to be taken by Him and our weariness relieved.
This is how we willingly persevere on a continuing basis throughout our lives. We stay in worship and prayer in the spirit realm, and we stay persevering in this carnal realm refreshed and empowered by the Spirit of God.
Feed on the Word. Worship God, pray without ceasing in the Holy Spirit, then go out and set the captives free.

True basis for joy.

Joy doesn't come from within!

It comes by faith in God, that the promises he made to us through Jesus Christ are true, and unending.

Mothers Day 2016 A salute to my wife

Happy Mothers Day!

All of us no doubt will confess that we have/had amazing mothers.

My Mother was a great cook, she could make a succulent meal out of just about anything that my Dad dragged into the house. She could bake goodies and made bread like no other that I have ever known. Having 7 children she still kept the house immaculate and we never lacked for clean, ironed (yes ironed) clothes. She comforted us when we hurt and disciplined us when we needed it.

Being a stay at home Mom she was always there for us.

Thank you Mom.

She was singularly the example of what I have today and what to expect out of a "till death do us part" marriage.

She set the bar so high that only one person in God's creation could not only meet it but surpass it with Love, honor, dignity, humility and the statement "that's what Mom's/wife's do! Period.

But I would like to take that one step further.

I not only had an amazing Mother but also have been twice blessed with a most amazing wife, who not only is the mother of our children, but my best Friend, Soul Mate, Love of my life, and since my Mom passed in 1999, my surrogate Mother.

Her laughter brightened our home, Her tears proved Her passion, Her prayers safeguarded our children, Her dedication was implicit, Her love was and Is "UNCONDITIONAL."

Anyone who has spent any time with Her has been blessed, (I having been with Her the most am "very blessed indeed.)

She has always been hospitable and every one that enters into our house is treated with grace and kindness. She not only has completed me but has helped to give direction to many who was seeking completeness by word and example.

In my opinion she is a true Biblical Mother.

She not only worked hard in the hearts of our children but also in the field (gardens and animals), not suffering the household chores to lack at the same time.

Of all the things in the world that can fascinate or amaze she (to me) is the most amazing. No invention, discovery, or product of man's cunning can meet the depth or provision of her personality, comfort, provision, or ingenuity. As it should be in the eyes of every husband toward his wife by God's design.

Today is the day the we "celebrate Her" but everyday is the day that we have the opportunity to show Her how "priceless", valuable, extraordinary, and "loved" she is.

Elise A. Cavasin, aside from Jesus Christ you are the most precious gift that God has ever given me, but not only me, but our progeny also.

Because of you I have been blessed with good: health, unmeasurable wealth, an abundance of children/grandchildren, joy, laughter, humility, sensitivity, hope, and above all "Unconditional Love."

May God our Father bless and keep you through many more years letting the light He gave you shine a good while more.
